We installed these fans in a steer barn bedded with straw/ shavings.  Customer had a difficult time getting good air throughout the barn even with the curtains fully opened. We installed variable speed drives and a thermostat with these fans so the fan speed will speed up as the temperature rises and slow down as the temperature drops and finally shut off at a low temperature set point.  These fans also will help dry the bedding and reduce the customers bedding expenses.  In the winter the farmer has the ability to reverse these fans to help pull stale air up and push it out the vent on top of the barn.
